NFRW declares Monday, Nov. 24 Sarah Palin Appreciation Day
Sarah Palin has made history and she is a rising star in the Republican Party. She made history as the Party's first female vice presidential candidate. With a direct approach and dynamic personality, she was a powerful force on the campaign trail. Sarah, as she is often affectionately called, is energetic, enthusiastic, intelligent, courageous and a strong leader.
She has endured numerous attacks from the media and the public, but has handled her attackers with dignity and grace.
Sarah, we are proud of you!
ACT NOW!
We are asking that all our members take the time to send Sarah a letter thanking her for her leadership and dedication to our principles.
Governor Sarah Palin

SCGOP announces two SCFRW members
to serve on Victory 2008 team
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson announced that two SCFRW members will serve as regional directors on the Victory 2008 staff. Victory 2008 is the South Carolina Republican Party’s coordinated campaign effort to elect Republicans to local, state and federal office.
Johnnie Bellamy will serve as Victory 2008 Regional Director for the Pee Dee/Grand Strand. Bellamy was a regional coordinator for Senator Lindsey Graham’s re-election campaign and was also active in Governor Mitt Romney’s campaign during the 2008 First-in-the-South Republican Presidential Primary.
Linda Butler-Johnson will serve as Victory 2008 Regional Director for the Lowcountry/Charleston. Johnson was a regional captain for Senator Lindsey Graham’s re-election campaign and field representative for John McCain during the 2008 First-in-the-South Republican Presidential Primary. Johnson was President of the South Carolina Federation of Republican Women and served as Chairman of the Charleston County Republican Party.
“We are extremely excited to have experienced political professionals on the ground in South Carolina,” said Dawson. “They will enable us to spread our conservative message of limited government, lower taxes, energy independence, a strong national defense and traditional values to every corner of the state. Our Victory team is set to activate our network of thousands of volunteers and supporters who will work tirelessly to elect Republicans up and down the ballot in November and deliver South Carolina’s eight electoral votes to John McCain.”

NFRW 70th Anniversary
The NFRW returned to its birthplace, the Empire Room of the Palmer House in Chicago, to celebrate its 70th anniversary, June 21.
In 1938, NFRW Founder Marion E. Martin called a meeting there to organize hundreds of independent Republican women's clubs across the country into a national organization.
The event served to remind us of the strength of the past and how it has a direct impact on the future. One hundred thirty women and men attended from across the United States.
The presence of past national presidents Patricia Hutar, Marilyn Thayer, Mary Jo Arndt and Marian Miller helped remind us of some of the wonderful programs the Federation has established to educate and elect Republicans.

LaDonna Ryggs, Betty Poe and Mary McAbee represented South Carolina.
